Francis Bacon "Galerie Claude Bernard 1977" Exhibition Poster

Francis Bacon (1909–1992) was an Irish-born painter and one of the most important postwar artists. Known for his haunting imagery of contorted bodies and raw emotion, Bacon explored themes of despair, mortality, and the human condition. Deeply influenced by the Old Masters and Surrealism, he reinterpreted iconic works—most famously in Study After Velázquez’s Portrait of Pope Innocent X (1953). His art remains in major institutions worldwide, including MoMA, Tate, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

Limited reprint of the exhibition poster from Francis Bacon at Galerie Claude Bernard, Paris (January 19 – March 26, 1977).
