"A primeval take on the Mothman for the podcast Mothboys. Mike from the podcast and I were on the same page from the jump: a Mothman tied deeply to the land of West Virginia, home to the show hosts. This is a gentle version of the cryptid, characterized most by the qualities of the barn owl (sometimes invoked with mundane explanations of the creature's sightings, and an animal tied to many stories of the supernatural). It rests amongst honeybees (state insect), monarchs (state butterfly), rhododendrons (state flower), a cardinal (state bird), and other flora native to WV.
